The Kistane Digital Hub is dedicated to digitizing and preserving the rich language, proverbs, and culture of the Sodo Gurage people. By crowdsourcing knowledge and utilizing offline technology, we ensure our heritage is passed down to the next generation, no matter where they are in the world.

The Sodo (also known as Kistane) are a vibrant ethnolinguistic group located primarily in the Gurage Zone of central Ethiopia. Their historical center is the town of Buee.

Known for their strong community ties (Aymellel), deeply rooted Orthodox Christian history, and incredible work ethic, the Kistane people have played a significant role in Ethiopia's history and modern development.
